The protagonist, Yagami Shinobu, continues his detective work in Tokyo, but returns home to settle his deceased father's estate. There, he meets with a local police inspector and learns about a case at a boarding school for foreigners. A girl living at the dormitory died under suspicious circumstances, but due to the involvement of foreigners, the investigation is stalled. Although reluctant at first, Yagami eventually decides to investigate, considering his ties to the town and its inhabitants.
